Avengers Youth Mentoring Organization (AYMO) is seeking dedicated volunteers to support our Youth Innovation & Economic Empowerment Summer Camp in Houston’s Sunnyside community.

This 5-week summer program serves youth ages 5–13 and focuses on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, innovation, and community impact through hands-on, real-world learning. Youth participants collaborate to design, build, and operate a structured economic stand that is registered as a legitimate business. They host community sales events, manage profits, and donate 10% back to AYMO to support ongoing community revitalization efforts.

    Volunteer Responsibilities:

    • Support small groups of youth during daily activities and projects
    • Assist with entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and innovation activities
    • Help supervise youth during workshops, business planning, and community events
    • Encourage teamwork, creativity, leadership, and positive behavior
    • Assist staff with setup, materials, and transitions throughout the day
    • Serve as a positive role model in a safe, age-appropriate environment

    Ideal Volunteers:

    • Individuals interested in youth development, education, entrepreneurship, or community impact
    • College students, professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, and community members
    • Patient, reliable, and comfortable working with elementary and middle-school-aged youth
    • Ability to commit to at least one full day per week (Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM preferred)

No prior teaching experience is required. Training and on-site guidance will be provided.
