Board Member - Sprout City Farms

Description
We seek board members who are not only inspired and motivated by SCF’s mission and vision, but also
have the time, network, and/or resources to contribute to the organization. Particularly, we are looking
for board members who are driven to help Sprout City Farms connect with the communities we serve,
support staff, maintain financial stability, and grow in a mission-driven, sustainable manner.
Current board openings:
- Accountant or someone with finance experience
- Lawyer
- Someone with nonprofit/small business management experience
- Experienced fundraiser
- Community organizer
- Representative(s) from the neighborhoods and communities surrounding our farms
Desired skills and qualifications for Board Members:
- Meaningful skills and experience to share per the above openings, and experience with:
- Ability to help raise awareness and funds for Sprout City Farms
- Well connected in the philanthropy community in metro Denver
- Represents the community surrounding one of SCF’s farms
- Interest in growing a more sustainable and equitable local food system
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend monthly SCF Board Meetings and participate in one Committee (approximate
- commitment of 5 hours per month)
- Assume tasks that come from Board decisions, such as researching, drafting a working
- document, contacting sponsors, supporting staff, etc.
- Support and participate in fundraising efforts
- Hold yourself and others accountable to the organization and commitments

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity
If interested, please contact Andrea Asali, Board President, at board@sproutcityfarms.org. The candidate process typically includes an initial conversation with the Board President and Executive Director and then one-on-one conversations with the remaining board members. The candidate is then invited to the next Board Meeting if there is a mutually agreed-upon fit.
