    Average 2–4 hours per week. Most tasks (translation, social media, outreach) can be done on your own schedule, with one 30-minute team sync meeting every two weeks.

    Must be passionate about health equity and immigrant rights. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding family health information is required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are highly preferred for navigation and translation roles.

    Description

    About the Initiative:

    Salud y Acceso is a student-led initiative dedicated to bridging the healthcare gap for Spanish-speaking immigrant families. Founded by a first-generation immigrant, we provide free, confidential navigation services to help families overcome language and systemic barriers to care.

    We are currently recruiting for the following remote/hybrid roles:

    • Health Navigation Assistant: Research low-cost/safe clinics and assist families with scheduling bilingual medical appointments.
    • Volunteer Coordinator Assistant: Onboard new volunteers, track service hours, and maintain our internal communications.
    • Community Outreach Leader: Create digital flyers and social media content to spread awareness of our free services.
    • Fundraising & Event Leader: Help organize community resource fairs or small-scale donation drives for emergency health needs.
    • Translator / Bilingual Support: Provide real-time Spanish/English support for families completing intake forms or during calls with providers.

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for health equity and immigrant rights.
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred for Navigation and Translation roles.
    • Strong communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality.
    • Ability to volunteer 2–4 hours per week.
