    Description

    About Kafika House

Kafika House is a rehabilitative surgery programme in northern Tanzania for children receiving pre-and post-operative care for a surgically treatable disability. We provide health services for children with osteofluorosis (genu varus and valgus), burn scar contractures, cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, and osteomyelitis. Our scope of practice encompasses patient recruitment through outreach, preoperative care, surgical care at one of our partner hospitals, and full recuperation and rehabilitation. By making holistic and transformative healthcare accessible to children living with a treatable disability in Tanzania, we provide hope and change the face of disability among families and communities.

    Digital Support Volunteer - Australia

    Assignment Overview

To strengthen our impact and sustainability, our funding partner, Kafika House Australia, plays a big role in raising awareness and securing financial support. However, Kafika House Australia requires assistance in updating its digital infrastructure, including its website and secure online donation platforms. A volunteer with expertise in digital tools and online fundraising will help ensure that Kafika House Australia has an effective and professional online presence that aligns with Kafika House Tanzania. This is a 3-month part-time assignment that can be carried out remotely.

    Assignment Objectives

    • Website Development & Optimisation - Design and develop a professional, user-friendly website for Kafika House Australia, ensuring it effectively communicates the organisation’s mission, fundraising goals, and impact. Integrate essential tools such as donation platforms, newsletters, and contact forms to enhance donor engagement.
    • Online Fundraising System Setup - Set up and configure Stripe, Raisely, and other online fundraising platforms to enable secure and efficient donor contributions. Ensure proper tracking and reporting features are in place to maintain financial transparency and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
    • Training & Knowledge Transfer - Provide step-by-step guidance to Kafika House Australia team members on managing and updating the website and donation platforms. Develop simple training materials or documentation for future reference.
    • Ensure Alignment with Kafika House Tanzania’s Systems - Work closely with both Kafika House Australia and Kafika House Tanzania to align systems.
    • Regulatory Compliance & Best Practices - Ensure all online fundraising systems comply with Australian nonprofit regulations. Implement best practices for donor security, financial transparency, and digital accessibility. Provide recommendations for future improvements in digital fundraising and engagement.

    Selection Criteria

Qualifications & Experience – A degree or relevant certification in IT, web development, digital marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field, with prior experience in website development and online fundraising systems.

Technical Skills – Proficiency in website development platforms (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, or similar), online payment systems (e.g., Stripe, Raisly), and digital tools for donor engagement and data management.

Nonprofit & Fundraising Knowledge – Experience working with nonprofit organizations, particularly in digital fundraising, donor management, or online donation processing, preferably within the Australian context.

Strong Communication & Training Abilities – Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members, provide clear documentation, and train staff to manage digital platforms independently.

    Desirable skills, language, and experience

    • Experience with Nonprofit Compliance & Financial Reporting – Familiarity with Australian fundraising regulations, nonprofit financial reporting requirements, and best practices for donor data security.
    • Graphic Design & Content Creation Skills – Experience using design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) to create visually appealing content for the website.
