MSW Interns Needed to Provide Comfort and Support to Hospice Patients and Families in Washington DC

MSW stidents will gain valuable experience while providing terminally ill patients and their families with psychological and social support, under the guidance of a VITAS MSW field instructor and team manager. Students will serve as members of the VITAS interdisciplinary patient care teams while assisting patient and families in accessig community resources and governmental benefits and assessing patient and faimily needs and potential crisis situations. Students will also help patients and families identidfy grief issues and provde bereavement services.

VITAS MSW student interns must be enrolled in a Master of Social Work program at an accredited college or univeristy. All MSW student interns must attend new-employee orientation, which includes shadowing VITAS care providers, during the first month of the internship.
