Learn about our most needed roles:

    • Disaster Action Team (DAT) Service Associates respond to the scene of local disasters and provide immediate assistance, including shelter, food and comfort following a home fire or other emergency.
    • Virtual DAT Duty Officer documents incoming disaster notification, use of Red Cross systems to dispatch DAT team & monitors the response to ensure appropriate resources are made available.
    • Deploy to a national disaster relief operation, train now, confirm availability to travel, at least once annually, for a two-week assignment, in a primary role, such as shelter volunteer, feeding, logistics, intake, recovery.
    • Blood Donor Ambassador & Transportation Specialist create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage visitors to make a long-term commitment to regular donations, you improve our ability to meet this critical need. When you deliver blood, platelets, or other blood products to a hospital, you are delivering hope to a person when they need it most.
    • Summer Youth Corps Blood Donor Ambassador youth, ages 13-24, volunteer between April-August, for a minimum of four (average one per month) scheduled blood drives to greet blood donors at arrival and departure, assist with the post donation snack and beverage area, and promote a positive blood donor experience.
