    Description

America 250 Independence Parade Volunteer: Event Support

The Oceanside Independence Parade is a beloved Fourth of July tradition that brings the community together to celebrate our nation’s independence in downtown Oceanside. The parade features local groups, veterans, businesses, and community organizations and attracts thousands of spectators.

Volunteers help make this large community event possible by supporting parade operations and creating a safe and welcoming experience for participants and guests.

    Volunteers may:

    • Assist with participant check-in and staging
    • Help direct participants and pedestrians
    • Support parade marshals along the route
    • Provide general information
    • Assist with light setup or cleanup

    Location

    On-site

    MainStreet Oceanside

701 Mission Ave, Oceanside, CA 92054, USA
    Directions

All volunteers will check in at the MainStreet Oceanside office, then be directed to their assigned locations along Coast Highway between Oceanside Boulevard and Sportfisher Drive. Some assignments may require a short walk.

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

All parade volunteers are required to attend one mandatory training session. During the training, we will review the event schedule and layout, explain how the parade operates, and go over volunteer roles and expectations. Volunteers will receive their official assignments and event T-shirt at the training.

Two training sessions will be offered approximately 1–2 weeks before the event, and volunteers only need to attend one session. Dates and times will be provided after you sign up.
