Event Coordinator/Event Coordinator Assistant – Throwback Hits Lip-Sync Fundraiser (Virtual)

    Role overview

Help lead the planning and smooth execution of our first Throwback Hits Lip-Sync Challenge, an online donate‑to‑vote fundraiser that will help KHI and OA101 raise $5,000–$7,000 to support our programs.

    What you’ll do

    • Coordinate the planning timeline and keep a simple task checklist up to date.
    • Schedule and facilitate short virtual check-ins with the volunteer team.
    • Ensure key milestones happen on time (contestant recruitment, video deadlines, launch, finale).
    • Help troubleshoot small issues and loop in the right teammate to solve them.

    Ideal volunteer

    • Organized and reliable; comfortable with basic project or event planning.
    • Good communicator (email/text/Zoom).
    • Enjoys keeping people on track and seeing a plan come together.

    What you gain

    • Hands-on experience coordinating a virtual fundraising event.
    • A leadership role you can list on your resume/LinkedIn.
    • A reference/letter of recommendation upon successful completion.

    Event Coordinator

    Skills and responsibilities:

The Event Coordinator helps lead planning for the KHI & OA101 Throwback Hits Lip-Sync Challenge from summer preparation through the late-October campaign. This volunteer should be organized, dependable, and comfortable managing timelines, scheduling short team check-ins, delegating tasks, and keeping multiple moving parts on track. Strong written and verbal communication, good judgment, and basic comfort with Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendars are important.

    Event Coordinator Assistant

    Skills and responsibilities:

The Event Coordinator Assistant supports the lead coordinator with follow-up, reminders, meeting notes, task tracking, and day-to-day logistics. This role is best for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, responsive by email/text, and comfortable helping keep a volunteer team organized. Basic spreadsheet and calendar skills are helpful, along with a willingness to jump in where needed.
