Teen & Young Adult Hospice Support Volunteer (Remote Service Hours Available)

Are you a compassionate teen or young adult looking to make a meaningful difference in your community? AccentCare Hospice is seeking caring volunteers to provide friendly check-in calls to hospice patients and their families.

As a Circle of Care Volunteer, you will help reduce isolation by making supportive phone calls, checking on basic needs and supplies, and offering a listening ear to patients and caregivers. These calls can make a tremendous difference in someone's day.

This opportunity is ideal for:

• High school students seeking community service hours
• College students interested in healthcare, social work, nursing, psychology, or medicine
• Young adults looking to give back to their community
• Individuals interested in hospice and palliative care

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Make scheduled phone calls to patients and families
• Ask about well-being, comfort, and support needs
• Check if additional supplies or services are needed
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Complete a simple call documentation form after each call

Requirements:

• Age 15+
• Professional and compassionate communication skills
• Reliable phone and internet access
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Training provided by AccentCare Hospice
