    Description

    The African Cultural Heritage Hub Inc. (ACHH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting African cultural heritage through storytelling, traditional arts, music, documentaries, youth programs, publications, and community events.

    ACHH develops cultural education experiences that connect African folklore, history, creativity, and artistic traditions with children, families, schools, diaspora communities, and the wider public.

    Opportunity

    ACHH is seeking a Grant Research & Fundraising Support Volunteer to help identify funding opportunities, organize donor prospects, research grant programs, and support fundraising outreach.

    This is a strong opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit development, grant research, arts and culture funding, education funding, donor engagement, and community-based fundraising.

    Key Responsibilities

    The volunteer may help with:

    • Researching grants for arts, culture, education, youth programs, storytelling, documentaries, heritage preservation, and community engagement
    • Identifying foundations, corporate sponsors, local funders, cultural institutions, and donor prospects
    • Creating and updating grant and donor prospect spreadsheets
    • Tracking deadlines, eligibility requirements, funding priorities, and application materials
    • Helping draft or organize basic fundraising language, letters, and sponsorship materials
    • Supporting donor outreach campaigns and follow-up lists
    • Researching school, library, museum, and community partnership funding opportunities
    • Helping ACHH become more organized and grant-ready

    Ideal Candidates

    This role may be a good fit for someone with interest or experience in:

    • Grant research
    • Fundraising support
    • Nonprofit development
    • Donor prospecting
    • Writing or editing
    • Research and data organization
    • Arts, culture, education, youth programs, heritage preservation, or community development

    Grant writing experience is helpful but not required. Strong research skills, attention to detail, reliability, and interest in ACHH’s mission are most important.

    Time Commitment

    Estimated commitment: 3–5 hours per week, flexible.

    This role can be structured around specific weekly research tasks, funding lists, donor outreach support, or grant deadlines.

    Location

    Remote volunteer opportunity. Atlanta-area volunteers are also welcome.
