    Description

    Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 10 hours per week

    Location: Remote/Fort Lauderdale

    EmpowHERto partners with black and Latina girls and young women from underserved communities between 14-21, empowering them with the necessary tools to thrive and effect positive systemic change.

    EmpowHERto FL is seeking a proactive and skilled volunteer People and Culture Specialist focusing on Recruiting and onboarding. This role will be essential in attracting and selecting top talent to support the organization’s mission and goals.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for various roles within the organization.
    • Create job postings and manage the recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
    • Collaborate with department managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
    • Coordinate and schedule interviews, providing candidates with positive and professional experience.
    • Collaborate with the coordinator to maintain and update the applicant tracking system and other recruitment databases.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on recruitment activities and progress to the People and Culture team
    • Lead recruitment and hiring efforts for their respective locations.
    • Manage the onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
    • Develop outreach strategies to attract top talent.
    • Assist with all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
    • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment contracts.
    • Assist with performance management procedures Schedule meetings, interviews, Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
    • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
    • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or
    • equivalent experience.
    • At least 2 years of experience in recruiting, interviewing, or a related HR role.
    • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices and techniques.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Passion for promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
    • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and HR software
    • Demonstrated commitment to community engagement through sustained volunteer work or civic involvement that reflects empathy, initiative, and impact
