Are you an experienced entrepreneur, executive, or business professional looking to give back to the Boston community? Boston Business Mentors is seeking passionate individuals to guide local founders through the highs and lows of business ownership. Track record of successful business ownership or executive leadership is required.

As a Volunteer Mentor, you will serve as a trusted advisor to business owners at various stages—from those sketching out their first business plan to seasoned owners preparing for a successful exit. Your mission is to provide the "outside perspective" and expert insight that helps small businesses thrive and scale.

What You’ll Do

• 1-on-1 Mentorship: Meet with mentees (in-person or virtually) to provide strategic guidance, troubleshoot challenges, and act as a sounding board.
• Goal Setting: Help founders define actionable milestones and hold them accountable to their long-term vision.
• Resource Sharing: Connect clients with relevant tools, networks, and industry best practices.
• Expert Presentations (Optional): Share your specialized knowledge (e.g., Marketing, Finance, HR) by leading occasional free workshops or webinars.
• Community Advocacy: Represent Boston Business Mentors at local universities and partner organizations to support the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Who You Are

• Experienced: You have a background in business ownership, corporate leadership, or a specialized field (Legal, Tech, Finance, Operations, etc.).
• Empathetic & Patient: You understand that the founder’s journey is difficult and enjoy helping others find their own solutions.
• Communicator: You can explain complex concepts simply and provide constructive, honest feedback.
