Computer Refurbishers

Computer Refurbishers will volunteer to refurbish donated computers under the supervision of the Technology Supervisor. Volunteer opportunities include inspecting all incoming technology donations to determine if the hardware is reusable; complete hardware testing and troubleshooting on all systems, wiping and replacing hard drives, RAM, optical drives, and power supplies along with other components as needed; utilizing Clonezilla and scripts to install a new operating system on the computers currently Windows 7 and Microsoft 10 and activating the computers for distribution to low-income families in San Diego County.

Computers 2 SD Kids (C2SDK) believes all children and their families in San Diego, regardless of their economic status, need to be computer literate and have equal access to technology and the crucial educational, occupational, and financial resources that technology can provide to improve their educational options and their futures.

We want awesome volunteers dedicated to the cause of fighting the digital divide by helping us refurbish and distribute systems donated by the community.
