Community Support Volunteer (Event and/or Outdoors)

Young, bLAck, & Outside (YBO) creates intentional community experiences centered on wellness, connection, and the outdoors — including social events, hikes, camping, and stargazing experiences.

We’re seeking Community Experiences Volunteers to support event planning, logistics, and outdoor experience readiness. This role is designed to help strengthen planning systems, reduce day-of stress, and support safe, well-executed experiences.

Support may include:

• Event logistics & confirmations (venues, timelines, backup plans)
• Day-of event support (check-in, guest support, flow coordination)
• Outdoor experience support (route scouting, safety planning, co-leading day hikes)
• Limited support for overnight camping or stargazing experiences (by invitation only)
• Sponsor or partner support (gear, in-kind support, or experience underwriting)
• Content or documentation support (marketing, recaps, planning notes, systems)

This is a support-focused, non-leadership role. Volunteers help with execution, safety, and preparation — not finances or final decision-making. Opportunities vary by experience, and volunteers can opt into areas that align with their skills and comfort level.

We especially welcome applicants with event operations experience, outdoor certifications, or partnership/sponsor experience. Selected volunteers will be invited to a brief introductory conversation
