Rise Academy After School

Are you looking to hang out and foster the coolest kids of Richmond’s East End? At Rise Richmond After School, we’re on a mission to create a safe space where kids are excited to learn, play, and grow. We’re looking for enthusiastic, imaginative, and energetic individuals to join our team and make a difference in the lives of our students!

As an After School Volunteer, you will lead exciting activities such as dodgeball and knockout, foster creativity in the art and STEM areas, and ensure every day is filled with laughter and learning.

• Commit to at least one day a week for the semester M-Th from 3-6pm
• Design and lead a variety of engaging activities – from arts and crafts to science experiments and team games – that captivate and inspire kids
• Create a safe and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and secure. Keep an eye out for both physical and emotional well-being
• Assist kids with their homework in a supportive and encouraging manner
• Inform staff of any conflicts or disagreements and foster positive interactions among the kids.
• Celebrate every achievement, big or small, and encourage kids to reach their full potential of their God-given sense of identity, resilience, and agency.
• Contribute new ideas and initiatives to keep the program fresh and fun.
• A heart full of enthusiasm and a passion for working with kids.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to think on your feet and handle a variety of situations with creativity and patience.
• Background check done by organization.
