Description
The Foster Engagement Coordinator focuses on building strong relationships with fosters to improve retention, confidence, and overall experience. This role proactively supports fosters beyond day-to-day needs by identifying risks early and ensuring fosters feel connected and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Foster Relationships
- Conduct regular check-ins with fosters, particularly after commitment to a new foster pet
- Build trust and maintain ongoing communication
- Serve as a relationship-focused support layer (not case management)
Retention & Risk Identification
- Identify burnout risks, concerns, or disengagement early
- Surface “red flags” to Foster Support Manager as needed
- Help re-engage fosters who may be becoming inactive
Feedback & Insights
- Gather feedback from fosters on their experience
- Identify trends, gaps, or opportunities for improvement
- Share insights to help improve systems and support
Engagement & Community
- Encourage participation in Circle Community
- Support engagement initiatives and communication efforts
- Help fosters feel connected to the mission and team
Success Looks Like
- Increased foster retention
- Improved foster satisfaction and confidence
- Early identification of issues before escalation
- Stronger sense of community among fosters
