    Digital Storytelling Intern - Video & Photography

    Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week

    Location: Hybrid (Some on-site event attendance required)

    Duration: One Semester

    About Stand Up for Kids - Orange County:

    Stand Up for Kids is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of youth homelessness. The Orange County chapter has been serving vulnerable and at-risk youth ages 12-24 for over 20 years, providing mentorship, basic needs, education support, and access to housing resources. We empower young people to build brighter futures and ultimately break the cycle of youth homelessness.

    About the Role:

    We’re looking for a passionate and visual-minded Digital Storytelling Intern to help us bring the mission of Stand Up for Kids to life. This role is ideal for a student studying film, digital storytelling, visual journalism, or a related discipline. You will help us document our work, create short-form video content, and generate visual assets to engage our community and supporters.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Capture video and photo content at events and program days (with supervision and consent protocols)
    • Assist with editing short-form videos for social media and presentations
    • Help storyboard and plan visual content pieces
    • Organize and tag digital assets for future use
    • Must complete a half-day training and pass a background check ($18 fee)

    Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in a Film, Art, Media, or Communications program
    • Must have a portfolio of prior work (student projects accepted)
    • Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar
    • Access to camera and/or video equipment is preferred
    • Creative, collaborative, and sensitive to working with vulnerable youth populations
    • Must complete a half-day training and pass a background check ($18 fee)
