    Volunteer Leadership Position

    About Daisy's Legacy

Daisy's Legacy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving animal health, safety, and welfare through advocacy, education, and direct support programs. We believe all animals deserve compassion, protection, and a voice—including farm animals, who are often among the most overlooked and vulnerable.

    Position Summary

Daisy's Legacy is seeking a highly motivated and passionate volunteer to help design, develop, and lead a new Farm Animal Program focused on improving the welfare, protection, and advocacy of farm animals.

This is a unique opportunity to build a meaningful initiative from the ground up and help shape the future of farm animal welfare within a growing nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is excited to take ownership of a high-impact program and drive long-term change.

    Responsibilities

    • Research farm animal welfare issues, legislation, industry practices, and emerging trends
    • Develop and lead the Farm Animal Program strategy, goals, and roadmap
    • Ensure program activities align with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards
    • Create educational resources and awareness materials for the public
    • Identify opportunities for partnerships with animal welfare organizations, sanctuaries, and advocates
    • Draft proposals for grants, sponsorships, and program expansion opportunities
    • Lead advocacy initiatives and awareness campaigns focused on farm animal welfare
    • Monitor policy developments and support efforts to improve protections for farm animals
    • Help establish long-term goals and measurable impact for the program

    Qualifications

    • Passion for animal welfare, particularly farm animal protection
    • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively
    • Interest in advocacy, public policy, education, or nonprofit program development
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Experience in animal welfare, agriculture, public policy, nonprofit work, education, or advocacy is a plus but not required

    Why This Role Matters

Farm animals are among the most overlooked and vulnerable animals in our society. Millions are affected by welfare concerns, inadequate protections, and limited public awareness.

By leading this program, you will have the opportunity to create meaningful change through education, advocacy, research, and strategic program development. Your work will help Daisy's Legacy expand its impact and become a stronger voice for farm animals and the people who care about them.

    Benefits

    • Gain nonprofit leadership and program development experience
    • Build expertise in animal welfare advocacy and policy
    • Develop skills in strategic planning, partnerships, and public education
    • Network with animal welfare professionals and organizations
    • Earn volunteer service hours while making a lasting impact
