Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by helping underrepresented languages become part of the global digital ecosystem. Since 2015, we have supported language communities through digitization initiatives, localization, education, and global collaboration.

Overview

We are looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Content Lead to guide Translation Commons’ social media presence and community engagement. This role focuses on building strong content rubrics, coordinating volunteer writers, and developing social media content that increases awareness, engagement, volunteer applications, and community growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall social media content direction for Translation Commons.
• Coordinate and mentor volunteer social media content managers and writers.
• Develop and manage content rubrics and recurring series aligned with marketing goals.
• Plan and maintain the social media content calendar.
• Ensure consistency of tone, messaging, and brand voice across platforms.
• Collaborate with the Design, PR, and Traffic teams to improve reach and engagement.
• Analyze content performance and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Suggest and test new formats, platforms, and engagement strategies.

Ideal Skills

• Experience in social media strategy, content marketing, or community management.
• Strong understanding of social media content ecosystems.
• Ability to manage multiple contributors and content workflows.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills.
• Understanding of engagement metrics and audience growth strategies.
• Experience with Instagram, Reddit, X, or other social platforms is a plus.
• Interest in nonprofit communication, digital inclusion, or global communities.
