    Description

Clothed Art Models for Live Drawing Sessions

We are a non-profit regional arts organization located Downriver. Our home is a 20,000 sq ft arts center where we hold art exhibits, classes and workshops, events, concerts, dances and whatever else artists can dream up! The Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) presents a well-rounded artistic experience that encompasses many different fine art forms, both visual and performance-based, for adults and children. Our aim is to engage the community in arts and cultural experiences.

We are looking for models to build into our schedule. If you have experience modeling for artists, we would love to hear from you. Experience isn’t necessary, but if you have never sat for a session before, we would need you come to a session and watch how its done.

    Details:

Once a month, mostly on the 3rd or 4th Thursday of the month.

The Main Gallery will be open from 5:30-8pm. We are asking the model to be ready by 6pm, but could be ready sooner if they wish.

    The model will do:

4 five-minute poses for a quick warm up.

    10 minute break.

60 minute pose (with breaks every 20-30 minutes, depending on your preference).

Model is paid $50 per session.

This is a family friendly atmosphere, so please keep this in mind when selecting clothing. You can wear anything from street clothes to period costumes. Please, just nothing profane or inappropriate as we’ll have children in the building.

This is an paid gig; however, it can also equate to an internship with exchanged hours worked for college class credit. You are also able to earn credit hours from a non-profit organization for your group and/or place of employment (honor societies, scouts, etc.). We would be happy to make arrangements to accommodate this.

Please email dc4arts@downriverarts.org with your inquiry and a brief introduction.

2026 dates are not published yet, but will be soon. For more information, here is a link to our 2025 program: https://www.downriverarts.org/events-2/2025livemodelsessions
