Description
oin the Preventative Search & Rescue Team at Lake Mead National Recreation Area!
Do you want to help serve the public, protect our national parks, and make a meaningful difference? Become a Preventative Search and Rescue (PSAR) volunteer at Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
PSAR volunteers engage with visitors at trailheads, on trails, at beaches, near boat ramps, and even out on the water—providing safety information, sharing knowledge about park conditions, and helping prevent emergencies before they happen.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Help improve visitor experiences
- Educate the public about outdoor safety
- Protect natural and cultural resources
- Participate in hands-on training opportunities
Training includes:
- Public speaking
- Hiking and field safety
- Deckhand skills
- Paddle craft use and safety
- If you enjoy working with people and spending time outdoors, we’d love to hear from you!
To apply, please go to www.volunteer.gov and search for "Lake Mead".
