    Description

Prepare and Donate Meals to our Welcome Center

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness? Join Friendship Place’s volunteer team and help us provide nutritious and convenient grab-and-go meals for approximately 30 individuals at our Welcome Center.

Please note that our Welcome Center does not have a kitchen or food supplies on-site — our Welcome Center is not an overnight shelter and has only a standard refrigerator and microwave. Volunteers are responsible for purchasing all ingredients, preparing the ready-to-eat meals in advance, and delivering them to the Welcome Center.

We’re looking for a dedicated group of up to 5 volunteers to provide these pre-made meals and support our mission of ending homelessness in our community with compassion and dignity.

    • Volunteer Responsibilities:**

As a Grab and Go Meal Preparation Volunteer, your primary responsibilities will include:

    1. Meal Planning: Collaborate with our volunteer coordinator to create a balanced and nutritious meal plan for approximately 30 individuals.
    2. Meal Preparation: Prepare the grab and go meals in an offsite kitchen facility, ensuring they are safe, hygienic, and meet food safety standards.
    3. Packaging: Package the meals individually, making them easy to grab and ready to eat for our guests.
    4. Transport: Safely transport the prepared meals to our Welcome Center before the designated serving time.
    5. Clean-Up: Leave the Welcome Center in a clean and organized state, adhering to the facility's guidelines.
    • Requirements:**
    • Prior experience in meal preparation or a willingness to learn.
    • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
    • Strong attention to food safety and hygiene practices.
    • Access to an offsite kitchen facility for meal preparation.
    • Reliable transportation to deliver the meals to the Welcome Center.
    • Benefits:**

Volunteering with Friendship Place is a rewarding experience that allows you to make a positive impact on the lives of those experiencing homelessness. As a Grab and Go Meal Preparation Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Contribute to a supportive environment where individuals feel welcomed and valued.
    • Join a passionate and compassionate community of volunteers and staff dedicated to ending homelessness.
