Homeland Hospice is seeking volunteers to support our front desk responsibilities!
Your attentive ear and smiling voice over the phone can make all the difference for someone experiencing end of life situations! If desiring an administrative role, but still wanting to have patient and family contact, this role may be the combination you seek.
Individuals with strong interpersonal and clear writing skills, and some technology knowledge, especially phone etiquette and text messaging, are ideal candidates for this role. A front desk person may be the first person an outside caller "meets" within the hospice which makes phone demeanor all the more important.
This individual will triage calls/messages to appropriate hospice staff members to ensure patients and their families, vendors, and other callers are well supported. Knowing some medical terminology is not required, but preferred. Having ability to have workable knowledge of our EMR and phone systems is required and training offered by the Volunteer Coordinator. Some data entry such as updating communication spreadsheets may be needed depending on time constraints.
