    This role is for 2 years with the option of renewal, and has a 6 months probationary period attached to it. Board members will be expected to attend monthly board meetings, quarterly review meetings, and ad hoc committee meetings where necessary.

    Non-executive director with The Solar Drift Project

    The Solar Drift Project is an early-stage climate-tech non-profit initiative supporting responsible floating solar adoption across Africa. We are seeking a passionate Board Directors to provide strategic guidance, governance oversight, and support in scaling sustainable energy solutions that advance clean energy access, resilient water systems, and community-led environmental stewardship. This is a non-executive role offering the opportunity to shape the vision and impact of a mission-driven startup at the intersection of renewable energy, agriculture, and climate action.

    Key roles:

    Governance & strategy

    Legal & compliance (SA-qualified)

    Engineering oversight

    Financial oversight

    Agriculture & water sector integration

    Environmental sustainability

    As a board member, you’ll influence strategic decisions, ensure sustainability, and contribute to projects that deliver real social, environmental, and economic impact.⠀

    📌 Requirements: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in your field. International candidates are welcome (except for legal & compliance).
