Description
Heartland Hospice is currently recruiting for Friendly Visitor Volunteers. Volunteers will be assigned to a patient who they will meet for weekly or bi-weekly visits. During these visits they may engage in arts & crafts, share music, read a book, play card or board games and provide companionship and conversation. Patients may be located in a residential home or reside in a long-term care facility. Volunteers should be friendly, outgoing and willing to work with those in the end stages of life.
Volunteers will complete a hybrid training (self-study, in-person and virtual) prior to being assigned a patient. An application, background checks and Tuberculosis screen is required all covered by Heartland Hospice.
