About Casa Xolo Foundation

Casa Xolo Foundation is a San Antonio-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit built at the intersection of animal rescue and Latinx cultural heritage. We rescue and rehabilitate animals in need, and we bring people together through community eventsa and celebrations of our roots. We are currently in our founding year and preparing to break ground on our first official facility in Natalia, TX.

We are building our Board of Directors and are looking for passionate, mission-aligned individuals ready to take on meaningful leadership and help shape the future of this organization from the ground up.

Role Overview

The Fundraising & Development Chair serves on the Casa Xolo Foundation Board of Directors and leads all efforts to grow the foundation's financial base. This board member identifies, researches, and cultivates relationships with donors, corporate sponsors, and grant opportunities. Every dollar raised goes directly toward rescuing animals and building our Natalia facility.

Board Responsibilities

• Attend monthly board meetings and weekly team calls
• Uphold the foundation's mission, values, and legal obligations as a 501(c)(3)
• Act as a fiduciary steward of the foundation's resources and reputation
• Support the President in strategic planning and long-term sustainability

Fundraising & Development Responsibilities

• Research and identify prospective corporate sponsors and donors aligned with our mission
• Draft and send sponsorship outreach using our sponsorship packet
• Track all sponsorship conversations in a shared pipeline
• Research grants Casa Xolo may be eligible for and support grant applications
• Help develop fundraising campaigns — online giving days, peer-to-peer fundraising, etc.
• Maintain donor and sponsor contact records
• Report fundraising progress to the board at monthly meetings

Who You Are

• A strong writer who can communicate our mission compellingly and professionally
• Comfortable with outreach — you don't mind sending cold emails or making calls
• Detail-oriented and good at tracking multiple conversations at once
• Passionate about our mission and able to speak authentically about why it matters
• Bonus: experience in sales, fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development
