    About Trauma Speaks

    Trauma Speaks is dedicated to raising awareness, providing resources, and advocating for individuals impacted by trauma. Through education, storytelling, and community engagement, we aim to break stigma and create pathways toward healing.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and organized volunteer to serve as an Assistant to the Founder/CEO. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with leadership, gain insight into nonprofit operations, and contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence
    • Assist in drafting emails, reports, and/or presentations
    • Conduct research on partnerships, funding opportunities, and relevant topics in trauma advocacy
    • Help coordinate events, campaigns, and outreach initiatives
    • Organize and maintain digital files, contact lists, and internal documents
    • Support strategic projects and special initiatives as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Interest in mental health, trauma-informed care, or nonprofit work
    • Proficiency with basic digital tools (e.g., email platforms, document editors, scheduling tools)
    • Prior administrative, volunteer, or nonprofit experience is a plus but not required

    Time Commitment

    Minimum of 6 months volunteer, flexible, approximately 5–10 hours per week (remote-friendly, with occasional virtual meetings)
