    Description

Take a Leadership Role in Fighting Food Insecurity and Food Waste in Detroit!

Food Rescue US is dedicated to reducing wasted food and increasing food access. By keeping food out of landfills, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Through our proprietary web-based app, we engage volunteers and food donors to directly transfer nutritious excess food to social service agencies serving people experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers rescue donated fresh, usable food that would have otherwise been thrown away from restaurants, grocers and other food businesses and deliver it directly to social service agencies that feed the individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. We diligently pursue this mission, and strive to have our work reflect our values of community, passion, innovation, simplicity, and gratitude.

Site Directors are the heart of the organization and vital to our mission to reduce food waste and hunger. We are seeking 1 - 3 strong leaders to run a robust food rescue program with years of experience in Detroit.

This role requires excellent organizational skills and comfort with technology. However, it is primarily about creating and managing interpersonal relationships and team building with our food donors, receiving agencies, volunteers, and community partners. At Food Rescue US, we believe that growth happens when we embrace new possibilities and continually seek ways to expand our impact. The ideal Site Director is open-minded, proactive, and eager to explore opportunities that strengthen their site's reach and effectiveness. By welcoming new partnerships, innovative ideas, and creative solutions, Site Directors play a pivotal role in driving both local and national growth.
