    Description

Volunteer Outdoors at a Princeton Nature Preserve! Help restore degraded wildlife habitat.

Volunteers will work under the guidance of the Friends of Princeton Open Space stewardship staff to perform riparian and forest restoration in the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve in Princeton. Join us as we head out to one of our restoration project sites for critical tasks such as invasive species removal, spring planting, or installing cages around native plants to protect them from deer & beaver browse.

Bring a friend. Groups are welcome!

SIGN UP HERE FOR AN UPCOMING SESSION:

    Saturday, April 18th 10 to Noon & 1 pm to 3 pm

    Saturday, April 25th 10 to Noon & 1 pm to 3 pm

What to expect: Our volunteer sessions start with a short presentation about the scope of work for the day. We will then walk to the project site, where volunteers will work to restore degraded habitats. This may include removing invasive plants and planting native species. The stewardship skills learned at these sessions can easily be applied to restoring habitat in your own backyard.

Event waiver: Please complete this event waiver - fopos.org/waiver. This needs to be completed once per calendar year.

About FOPOS: Since 1969, FOPOS has been working to preserve and protect natural spaces in the greater Princeton area. As a part of our work, we rely on volunteers to help make progress when it comes to restoration work, such as our current forest and riparian restoration projects in the Billy Johnson Mountain Lakes Nature Preserve.
