    Description

    • BE A BEACON OF HOPE WHERE CHILDREN HAD LOST IT*

In Kasanje Central and the Bussi Islands on Lake Victoria, there are children who wake up with no hope. They have lost it. Lost to poverty that takes away school books. Lost to HIV that has taken their parents. Lost to early marriage that steals childhood. Lost to empty stomachs and classrooms with no teachers.

They sit by the lake, wondering if anyone cares. They stopped dreaming because dreaming hurts when you have nothing.

This is where you come in.

Ssenvuma Memorial Care Foundation was born to restore that lost hope. To be a beacon. A light that says, "You are not forgotten. You matter. Your future is still possible." We are a youth-led, community foundation transforming lives through education, health outreach, women empowerment, and building our permanent resource centre in Wakiso District, Uganda.

But a beacon cannot shine alone. It needs hands to hold it. Hearts to carry it. People like you.

We are calling for volunteers – both onsite in Uganda and remote worldwide – to join us as beacons of hope.

    • We are looking for:
    1. Administrator: To organize operations, manage volunteer records, coordinate our five functional departments, and make our foundation more permanent and professional. If you are organized, this is your calling.
    1. Social Worker and Community Development Officer:* To walk with families. Visit homes in Kasanje and Bussi Islands, identify vulnerable children and widowed mothers, provide counseling, link them to support, and help communities develop their own solutions.
    1. Proposal Writing Officer:* To help write winning proposals and grant applications. We have the vision and groundwork, but need your words to connect us to donors who can fund education, health, and construction of our resource centre.
    1. Health Workers:* Nurses, community health volunteers, public health enthusiasts to support HIV awareness, malaria prevention, maternal health, and home-based care for the elderly and children living with HIV.
    2. Social Media Moderator and Promoters:Storytellers, photographers, videographers, digital marketers to manage our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and website, and show the world that hope is returning in Kasanje.

Whether you have a professional qualification or not, you are most welcome. Whether you are a student, a graduate, a retired professional, or someone who has never had formal training – if you have experience in volunteering and an urge to serve, if you have compassion that pushes you to act, you already qualify. You can volunteer remotely or onsite – both are equally valued.

To make this easy and transparent, we have a dynamic website that allows you to work remotely and onsite seamlessly. It is not just information – it is a working platform for real impact. Once you join, you get your personal login credentials and volunteer dashboard. From there you can access tasks, upload field reports, attend virtual team meetings, mentor a child via video call, manage social media, co-write proposals with our team, and track your impact in real-time. Remote or onsite, you stay connected.

Onsite or remote, you are one team. One beacon.

Come. Be the reason a child in Kasanje dreams again. Be the beacon of hope where children had lost it.
