Position Overview
The Grant Writer – Environment & Technology is responsible for researching, developing, and submitting high-quality funding proposals that integrate environmental sustainability with innovative technology solutions. The role focuses on securing grants from foundations, international donors, CSR programs, and multilateral agencies to support climate resilience, ecological restoration, digital innovation, and sustainable development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Research & Donor Mapping
- Identify funding opportunities aligned with environmental sustainability and technology innovation.
- Research international donors, foundations, CSR programs, and climate-tech funding platforms.
- Maintain and update a donor database with priority leads, deadlines, and funding criteria.
- Proposal Development
- Write compelling grant proposals, concept notes, and project narratives.
- Develop proposals that integrate climate action, digital tools, and scalable solutions.
- Customize applications for donors such as climate funds, tech foundations, and innovation grants.
- Ensure alignment with donor priorities, SDGs, and impact metrics.
- Program Design Support
- Collaborate with program teams to design innovative projects (e.g., climate-smart agriculture, digital education, green tech solutions).
- Translate field-level activities into structured, fundable project frameworks.
- Develop logical frameworks (logframes), theory of change, and results-based models.
- Budget Development
- Prepare detailed project budgets and justifications.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with donor requirements.
- Work with finance teams for accurate financial projections.
- Impact & Reporting
- Define measurable outcomes (KPIs, SDGs, beneficiaries, environmental impact).
- Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

- Incorporate digital tools (AI, IoT, data platforms, mobile apps) into environmental projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong proposal writing and storytelling skills.
- Knowledge of environmental issues (climate change, biodiversity, sustainable agriculture).
- Understanding of technology applications (digital tools, climate-tech, data systems).
- Experience with international donors, CSR funding, or development sector grants.

- Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
