    Description

    Director of Community Relations

    The Blind Society is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven individual to serve as our Director of Community Relations. This is a volunteer leadership position responsible for overseeing the organization’s outreach, partnership development, and community engagement efforts to expand visibility, strengthen relationships, and increase overall impact.

    This role requires an ongoing commitment of approximately 10 hours per week and offers the opportunity to play a key role in growing the organization’s presence and external partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead the development and execution of outreach and community engagement strategies

    Identify and pursue opportunities for community involvement and organizational visibility

    Build and maintain strategic partnerships with organizations, businesses, and community leaders

    Oversee awareness efforts to ensure consistent and mission-aligned messaging

    Supervise and support team members within outreach, partnerships, and awareness roles

    Monitor engagement efforts and identify opportunities for growth and improvement

    Collaborate with leadership to align community relations efforts with organizational goals

    Qualifications:

    Strong organizational and leadership skills

    Ability to build and maintain professional relationships

    Experience in outreach, partnerships, community engagement, or related areas preferred

    Strong communication and collaboration skills

    Passion for supporting individuals who are blind or visually impaired

    Ability to work independently and follow through on responsibilities

    Additional Information:

    This is a volunteer leadership position with a commitment of approximately 10 hours per week

    This role has the potential for future compensation as the organization grows and funding becomes available

    The Director of Community Relations will play a critical role in expanding the organization’s reach, strengthening partnerships, and increasing community impact
