Be part of a growing movement building health, community power, and self-determination in the Black community. The One Africa! One Nation! Farmers Market is calling on dedicated volunteers to help bring this vision to life during our 2026 season in North St. Louis.

Our Mission

To ensure access to fresh, healthy food for the Black community, end food apartheid, and build sustainable community commerce by strengthening relationships with Black farmers and vendors — advancing a real path toward African self-reliance and self-determination.

Volunteer Role

Are you someone who believes that black children deserve joyful places and opportunities to learn and explore? Well this opportunity was made for you.

Children's Activities Circle volunteers facilitate fun, engaging activities throughout the market, including arts and crafts, movement activities, hula hooping, jump rope, games, and other interactive activities. Activities should celebrate African culture, creativity, community, movement, and collective play.

This role helps create a joyful space where children can participate in the market experience while families shop, connect with vendors, and enjoy the day's activities.

Bring your creativity, enthusiasm, and playful spirit! We're looking for volunteers who can engage children with patience, positive energy, and age-appropriate activities while helping create a welcoming community environment.

Great for: Artists, educators, youth workers, parents, college students, childcare professionals, and anyone who loves working with children and creating fun community experiences.
