    Interviews/Orientations will be held in April. Mandatory training consists of four(4) in-person sessions which will run consecutively on the following Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm at the Norwalk Health Department: April 28, May 5, 12 and 19.

    After initial training is complete, monthly meetings are held during the year and offer ongoing preparedness, emergency response training and NHD program information sharing sessions.

    Norwalk Emergency Response Team

    Do you enjoy helping others and giving back to your community? If so, sign-up to learn more about the Norwalk Health Department’s Emergency Response Team (ERT)! This group of volunteers donate their time and expertise to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies and promote healthy living throughout the year.

    ERT volunteers generally live or work in Norwalk and include community members with BOTH medical and non-medical backgrounds. Nurses, interpreters, home makers, office workers, legal advisors, medical and public health professionals are all needed to support the team. Bring your current skills and develop new ones while meeting other people who share your interest in public health and preparedness! Recruitment for our Spring 2026 Training Cohort is now open!

    1. Take Exit 16 - East Avenue.
    2. Turn right onto East Avenue.
