    Description

    Translation Support (Printed Materials) Volunteer Opportunity

    Reach for Resources is seeking volunteer translators to help make our printed materials accessible to the diverse communities we serve. By translating brochures, flyers, and outreach materials into additional languages, you help ensure that individuals and families can fully understand and access our programs and services.

    This role is ideal for bilingual volunteers who are passionate about communication, cultural understanding, and community inclusion.

    Responsibilities

    • Translate printed outreach materials from English into Spanish, Somali, Hmong, or Russian
    • Ensure translations are accurate, culturally appropriate, and easy to understand
    • Review or proofread existing translated materials as needed
    • Communicate with staff to clarify context, terminology, or tone
    • Complete translation projects within agreed-upon timelines

    Time Commitment

    • Flexible and project based
    • Work can be completed remotely
    • Volunteers contribute based on their availability

    Qualifications

    • Fluency in English and at least one target language: Spanish, Somali, Hmong, or Russian
    • Strong written communication skills
    • Attention to detail and cultural awareness
    • Ability to work independently
    • Interest in supporting accessibility and community inclusion

    Training and Onboarding

    To prepare you for this role, volunteers are required to complete:

    • Online volunteer training modules
    • A short virtual orientation with staff to review expectations and project workflow

    A background check is not required for this volunteer position.
