Teach an ESL Class to Seniors in Oakland (Beth Asher)

Do you want to help bridge communication barriers? Volunteer to lead an English class for seniors. Class day and time is flexible based on your availability, weekly or biweekly (preferred days and times: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays anytime during business hours, Thursdays after 1 PM)

They will support residents developing conversational skills in English including learning how communicate in emergencies, with healthcare providers, and other in everyday conversation. This is a great oppourtunity for those looking to gain teaching experience.

Requirements: Ongoing SAHA Community Volunteers must commit to volunteer a minimum of 4 months, and must complete a volunteer orientation, volunteer forms and background screening prior to beginning their placement.
