Litter like plastic, Styrofoam, and other garbage accumulates in our streams and creeks. This causes harm to wildlife through entanglement, suffocation, and poisoning and degrades water quality as it moves downstream.
Join NCWF Concord Wildlife Alliance Chapter for a litter sweep along Academy Branch, a tributary of Buffalo Creek that runs along the Village Greenway. We will pick up litter in the stream and along the greenway. For every 25 pounds of litter collected, NCWF plants native species throughout the state to promote healthy wildlife habitats, mitigate climate change, and buffer stormwater runoff and sediment loads in waterways.
