    Description

    University Vice President (Founding Executive)

Role: University Vice President (Founding Executive)

    Organization: Al-Ihsan Canadian Islamic University

Location: Remote (Candidate must reside in British Columbia)

Position Type: Executive Volunteer / Board Level

Status: Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

    The Vision

Al-Ihsan Canadian Islamic University is not just building a school; we are establishing a legacy of authentic, high-level Islamic scholarship tailored to the Canadian context. We are seeking a Vice President of exceptional caliber—a scholar-leader who possesses both the intellectual weight of a PhD and the strategic mindset to build an institution from the ground up.

    The Opportunity: Founding Leadership

As Vice President, you will serve as the primary strategic partner to the President and the Board. This is an elite opportunity for a British Columbia-based scholar to shape the academic and cultural DNA of a premier Islamic university. We are looking for a "builder" who can translate the highest standards of Ihsan into a functioning, world-class institution.

    Executive Mandate

    • Institutional Strategy: Drive the long-term vision for the university, moving from provincial incorporation to full operational scale.
    • Academic Leadership: Oversee the development of a rigorous curriculum that bridges classical Islamic sciences with contemporary academic standards.
    • External Relations: Represent the university to governmental bodies, accrediting agencies, and prestigious global academic partners.
    • Operational Oversight: Act as the bridge between the Board of Scholars and executive departments (Finance, Registrar, and Student Affairs).
    • Governance Excellence: Ensure the university remains a model of transparency, ethical leadership, and Canadian non-profit compliance.

    Candidate Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

    • Academic Pedigree: A PhD in Islamic Studies from a prestigious, globally recognized university.
    • Provincial Residency: Currently residing in British Columbia as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
    • Strategic Maturity: Significant experience in higher education leadership, board governance, or senior non-profit management.
    • Linguistic Proficiency: Mastery of English is required; advanced Arabic is essential for scholarly oversight.
