    Description

Are you tired of the "binary" of social media? Do you feel like public debate is broken, but you aren’t sure how to fix it without getting caught in the crossfire?

The Institute for Democratic Discourse is looking for Digital Ambassadors to help us reclaim the internet for open inquiry. We aren’t here to tell people what to think—we are here to defend how we think together. As an Ambassador, you will be a nonpartisan defender of democratic culture, using research and high-level discourse to bridge the gap between "free speech" and "chilled speech."

    What You’ll Do:

      • Translate Research into Reels/Posts: Turn our deep-dive research into digestible, high-impact content for Instagram, TikTok, and X/Twitter.
      • Model the Remedy: Engage in online spaces by modeling "charitable listening" and respectful disagreement.
      • Identify the "Chill": Help our research team spot new social and institutional trends that are making people afraid to speak up.
      • Join the Brain Trust: Participate in monthly "Strategy Salons" with Institute leadership and guest scholars.

The Perks (What’s in it for you?):

      • Professional Mentorship: Direct access to Institute leadership and fellows—perfect for students of Law, Political Science, or Communications.
      • Resume Supercharger: We provide a formal "Certificate of Civic Leadership" upon completion and serves as a stellar reference for grad school or job apps.
      • Portfolio Building: Get credit for social media campaigns, graphics, and articles that you help create.
      • Exclusive Access: Invitations to private briefings, workshops, and high-level networking events with experts in the field of civil liberties.
      • Remote & Flexible: 100% remote. We value your time—contribute as little as 2-3 hours a week on your own schedule.

    Who You Are:

      • You are ideologically curious and value pluralism over partisanship.
      • You are social media savvy but want to use your "influence" for something deeper than trends.
      • You believe that a healthy democracy requires the ability to disagree without being "canceled."
