About Alabaster Jar Project

Alabaster Jar Project (AJP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. We provide long-term housing, trauma-informed care, life-skills education, and peer support through our Grace House residential program and our drop-in Resource Center in Escondido, CA. We believe it takes a whole community to heal, restore dignity, and rebuild lives.

Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome individuals and groups looking to make a meaningful difference. Our volunteer needs are organized into two main tracks:

Non-Client Facing (Support Roles)

Volunteer alongside staff in crucial behind-the-scenes roles to keep our programs running smoothly:

• Support Group Meals & Providing Dinner: Prepare or sponsor meals for our program participants.
• Donation Organization: Help sort, stock, and organize donated goods for our Resource Center.
• RESTORE Volunteer: Assist with our social enterprise products.
• General Support & Event Hosting: Help with general facility needs or host a fundraiser to support our mission.
• Babysitting: Provide childcare support

Client-Facing (Direct Survivor Support)

Work directly with survivors to build community, teach skills, and offer practical assistance:

• Lead a Workshop: Share a skill, art form, or educational program with residents.
• Lead a Fun Outing: Plan and host recreational activities or social trips.
• Provide Transportation: Help transport clients to appointments, school, or work.

Qualifications for Client-Facing Roles

To ensure a safe and trauma-informed environment for the survivors we serve, client-facing opportunities require completing four qualification steps:

1. Interview with our Program Manager
2. Background check
3. Online Trauma-Informed Training
4. AJP 101 Quiz
