    Description

    Volunteer at an elementary school Community Night to support young readers through art

    Hosted by Turning the Page

    Join us for a fun, high-energy Community Night at a local elementary school, where you’ll help support PreK–5th grade students as they decorate and personalize their very own “bookcases” as part of a hands-on, artistic literacy activity designed to inspire a love of reading at home!

    Volunteer Roles Include:

    • Assisting children with painting and decorating their bookcases
    • Serving pizza dinner to families
    • Helping with setup, cleanup, and general event support

    This event brings together families, educators, and volunteers to introduce reading routines and literacy strategies to parents, while engaging students in a joyful, creative project.

    Community Nights:

    • October 1 4:30-6pm: Nalle Elementary
    • October 7 4-5:30pm: KIPPDC- Douglass Campus (elementary)
    • October 8 3:30-5pm: Hart Middle School
    • October 16 3:30-5pm: Turner Elementary
    • October 21 4:30-6pm: Kramer Middle School
    • October 28 4:30-6pm: Van Ness Elementary (author visit)
