    Description

    Wildflower Island Guides Info Session

This is an info session to introduce new volunteers to Teatown's Wildflower Island Guide program. Learn about this great opportunity and see if it is right for you!

Wildflower Island Guides lead small group tours of this two-acre treasure. Training begins each Spring with two Saturday or Sunday morning sessions. After the initial training, the Wildflower Island Guides meet monthly on Saturday or Sunday through September for additional training. Novice guides also work one-on-one with a mentor. Requires a commitment of at least 6 tours per season (April through September) or to work the equivalent hours on Wildflower Island garden maintenance.

    Directions

We will meet in the Science Center Lab, up the hill from the main Nature Center building. There is parking up top, but please be careful on the steep driveway. Visibility is limited. If you park in the downhill lots, let the parking attendant or front desk in the Welcome Trailer know you are here to volunteer so that you do not need to feed the parking meter.
