Description
Hospice volunteers provide compassionate support to patients and their families during this level or care. Responsibilities may include offering companionship, listening and providing emotional support, assisting with light activities such as reading, playing music, or sitting with patients, and supporting family members during visits. Volunteers should be caring, dependable, respectful, and comfortable working in sensitive situations. No medical experience is required, but volunteers must complete required training and follow all hospice policies and confidentiality guidelines.
