What is 8Billionminds?

8Billionminds is a social enterprise dedicated to building the world’s first free global online live-learning platform. The site will connect users to teach, learn or informally share any topic they wish through an online classroom, complete with digital whiteboard, video and audio to facilitate communication between individuals from anywhere in the world. 8BM is passionate about equitable access to education and improving cultural understanding and global empathy.

What does the role entail?

• Remote part-time graphic design volunteer (5-hour commitment a week minimum), with weekly community building meetings and fortnightly calls with full team
• Create compelling and effective logos, designs and digital media
• Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency of designs across various media outlets
• Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape and market trends

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• wants to be a part of an amazing educational project
• Has strong communication, conceptual thinking, creative/graphic design/web design/UX design/typography skills
• portfolio of work - which demonstrates their passion and track record for professional illustrative design and typography
• proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• has the necessary skills to help develop 8BM’s branding and designs for our upcoming site!
