Truck Driver

Summary: Drive Household Goods’ vehicles to pick up donations and/or for special events.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the truck has fuel and is loaded with supplies (tools, hand truck, straps, receipts, etc.).
• Oversee truck crew and ensure all passengers wear seat belts.
• Safely drive truck to various locations
• Plan a route, follow map or GPS directions and safely drive to various locations.
• Determine if items are acceptable (usable by clients, clean, functional, in good working order, with all parts).
• Inspect items for health and safety issues (e.g., stains, rips, broken or missing parts, mold,infestations, etc...).
• Respectfully refuse any items that do not meet Household Goods guidelines.
• Request tax-deductible donation.
• Understand Household Goods’ needs (items, volunteers, funding).
• Neatly and accurately record items and cash donation on Donor Receipt.
• Enthusiastically thank donors for generous donations.
• Ensure that goods are safely secured in trucks.
• Assist in unloading of trucks at Household Goods.

Qualifications:

• Valid MA driver’s license
• Clean driver’s record
• 25 years of age or older

Availability:

• Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, Saturday mornings

• 8:45 AM to 12:00 PM
