    Description

    CORE's Community Support Volunteer's (CSV), will engage in a variety of activities and duties as directed by the CORE staff. CSV's role involves, but not limited to, assisting with various tasks to support CORE. Such as helping organize events, engaging in outreach programs, providing direct assistance (like helping with food drive, community baby shower, youth scholarship fair, and community health fair, Community outreach events, etc.), and helping with setup and tear down of events. The specific duties vary widely, but common responsibilities include administrative tasks like data entry or mailings, while key expectations are reliability, professionalism, and respect for the organization and community members. Arriving on time for shifts and complete assigned duties. Respect the property, respect the privacy of clients and the organization's internal information. Inform staff of your availability, any conflicts, and seek support when needed. Participate in training programs to learn necessary skills and procedures. Treat staff, clients, and fellow volunteers with respect and dignity.

    Volunteering to support ODJFS - Every Wednesday 10am-3pm

    Location: 1650 Diagonal Rd at The House of the Lord -Youth Center. Assist with greeting and check-in/registration of incoming clients who have scheduled appointments with ODJFS Case Manager. This role involves greeting attendees, managing the sign-in process, distributing necessary materials, and ensure a smooth start to the event. Information and conversation are confidential

    Responsibilities:

    1. Greet participants warmly and provide a positive first impression.
    2. Check attendees in against a pre-registration list.
    3. Manage a walk-in sign-in list and distribute any required forms.
    4. Direct all questions to ODJFS Case Manager.
    5. Distribute materials as identified by Case Manager.
    6. Assist with light administrative tasks as assigned by the Case Manager.

    Time Commitment:

    • Hours: 4 or 8 hours (Volumeters can choose between working 4 hours or full 8 hours)
    • Shifts: Every Wednesday, mornings or afternoon from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
    • Duration: This is an ongoing service
    • Location: Location: 1650 Diagonal Rd at The House of the Lord -Youth Center.

    2. Organized with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
    3. Good verbal communication and active listening skills.
    4. Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to showing up for scheduled shifts.
    5. Ability to not disclose/repeat or share confidential information seen and heard.

    Training and Support:

    A brief orientation will be provided to review the registration/Check-in process and answer any questions.
