Description
Learning Partners/Tutors are school-based, academic-focused mentors assigned to a program site for one semester or longer. Volunteers support youth at least one day a week for approximately 2-3 hours.
Program sites are located at various locations in Boulder (middle school and high school cohorts) and two elementary sites (one site in Lafayatte and one in Longmont. Elementary and Middle School assignments are typically after school from approximately 2:30-6 pm during the fall and spring semesters. Summer semester hours vary between 11 am and 5:30 pm depending on the grade level and location assigned.
Volunteers assigned to high school cohorts support students for 3 hour increments between 10 am and 3 pm (Boulder sites) during the fall and spring semesters. Summer semester focuses primarily on credit recovery from approximately 10 am-3 pm. Orientation and Training provided for all new volunteers.
Learning Partners/Tutors support a cohort of students under the direct supervision of the Program Director and their team with academic tutoring and SEL (social-emotional learning). The Program Director can ask Learning Partners/Tutors to provide one-on-one support to an assigned student, or a small group of students, under their direction. All volunteers are expected to act as positive and stable role models for Dreamer Scholars.
Program sites are located in the cities of Boulder, Lafayette, and Longmont.
