    About

    The Alexander Review is an emerging literary review dedicated to showcasing diverse voices, creative perspectives, and thoughtful discourse. We’re a volunteer-driven team working remotely across different time zones, collaborating to publish new issues and expand our reach.

    Role Overview

    The Business Analyst will support The Alexander Review by gathering and analyzing data to improve workflows, volunteer operations, and publication processes. This role bridges creative and operational functions — transforming insights into recommendations that strengthen organizational efficiency and impact.

    This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to gain real-world experience in nonprofit management, literary publishing, or project coordination.

    Qualifications

    • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack (required).
    • Interest in creative industries, publishing, nonprofit operations, or process improvement.
    • Must be active and responsive in team communications.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
    • Students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities

    • Generate standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
    • Maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods.
    • Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users.
    • Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.
    • Identify and analyze industry or geographic trends with business strategy implications.
    • Understanding of workflow design, basic project management, or process documentation.
    • Familiarity with collaborative writing or publishing platforms.
    • Experience with spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel) or data visualization tools.

    Additional Details:

    • This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
    • Volunteers will gain professional mentorship, and resume-building experience.
