    Description

Creating comfort, connection, and creativity—one project at a time 🎨

    Position Type: Volunteer

    What This Is All About:

Hospice Arts & Crafts Volunteers bring moments of joy, self-expression, and meaningful connection to patients and families through creative activities. Whether it’s painting, coloring, simple crafts, or guided creative projects, your presence and creativity can offer comfort, relaxation, and a sense of accomplishment during a very special time in a patient’s life.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Share creative arts and crafts activities with hospice patients in homes, assisted living communities, or care facilities (with hospice team approval).
    • Adapt projects to meet each patient’s abilities, energy level, and interests.
    • Offer encouragement, companionship, and a relaxed, supportive environment—there’s no “right” way to create.
    • Follow the patient’s individualized plan of care and hospice guidelines during visits.
    • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and infection control practices during all activities.
    • Complete brief visit documentation and communicate any concerns or observations to the hospice team.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    • Volunteers age 18+ with a creative spirit and a compassionate heart đź’™
    • Enjoyment of arts, crafts, or creative hobbies (formal art training not required!)
    • Ability to work gently with individuals who may have limited mobility, fatigue, or cognitive changes
    • Willingness to follow hospice policies, CMS volunteer guidelines, and patient confidentiality requirements
    • Commitment to completing hospice volunteer orientation and required training

    We’ll Support You:

All hospice volunteers receive orientation and ongoing guidance to help them feel confident and prepared. You’ll be supported by our hospice interdisciplinary team every step of the way.

    Why You’ll Love This:

You’ll help patients express themselves, relax, and enjoy meaningful moments—sometimes through a shared laugh, sometimes through quiet creativity. The art may be simple, but the impact is powerful.
