A woman in Star, Idaho who experienced a traumatic brain injury 8 years ago is looking for a caring and consistent volunteer to assist with organizational skills and simple systems for daily living. This is a meaningful opportunity to provide one-on-one support, build a relationship, and make a tangible difference in someone’s independence and quality of life.
Location will be given later
Hand in Hand Family Mentorship provides struggling individuals and families with a support system, mentor and friend. We have seen that through these simple friendships, individuals are inspired to make personal changes, develop skills, work hard, and get their lives in better order.
Mentors do not do for these individuals what they can and should do for themselves, instead, our aim is to be a source of encouragement and guidance; creating a supportive arm as they learn to recognize the importance of choices and discover a better way to navigate life.
When people feel that someone sincerely cares about them, they begin to fix themselves. While these changes don't happen overnight, these healthy relationships place people in a positive trajectory and provide interaction with people who encourage and inspire them to keep trying.
